Florida Department of Health; Some Labs Have Miscalculations – Hospitals are Incorrectly Reporting Coronavirus Cases Leading too 100% Positivity Rates When the Actual is Drastically Lower

  • Centra Care reported that 83 people were tested and all tested positive. Then, NCF Diagnostics in Alachua reported 88 percent of tests were positive. The report showed a 98 percent positivity rate, however, after Fox investigated, the actual positivity rate is only 9.4 percent.
  • Orlando Veteran’s Medical Center had a positivity rate of 76 percent; however, after inquiry, the actual positivity rate is only 6 percent.

The Coronavirus data is vital to understanding the actual outbreak at large so the government and private entities can appropriately respond to the situation. Some labs in Florida, have massively overstated their positivity rate. Countless labs have reported a 100 percent positivity rate, and in reality, after some investigation, those numbers are drastically lower.
