John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Jesus has called us to the faith, not to death, but to Life. Jesus has called us to Live. Therefore, put away the sorrow, the grief, the hurt, the anger, your dealings with death, and choose Life.

While that is a relatively simple request, the action of such is hard. Jesus calls us to Life by speaking His word into our hearts and breathing his breath into our lungs.

When Jesus made this statement, He spoke in all three tenses Past, Present, and Future. For Historical context, Jesus referred to Himself as “The Way,” and by saying such, according to Jewish Wisdom literature, it meant living by God’s standards. In addition, Jesus also stated very profoundly that He is the only true path to eternal Life.

Present context; tells us that to have Life, we need only to follow the way the truth and the Life, and to do that, we need only follow Him. While that sounds easy in theory, the reality can be rather challenging given the circumstances of your Life.

Future Context; Jesus makes a promise that He is Eternal Life; therefore, Jesus makes a promise through Historical and preset context that if we follow Him, we will have the promise of Eternal Life and that by choosing the one and only Son of God, we shall gather with the Father.

Jesus is the Way, The Truth, and The Life, and to have that Life we need only follow Him, and as a result of such, we will not pay for the wages of our sin, because as Jesus promised in John 3:15 that by believing in Him we will not perish but we shall have eternal Life.

John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal Life.

In Romans 6:23, Paul tells us more about what happens when we live in sin; “23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Don’t you want that eternal Life? Then chase after the way, the truth, and the Life. Follow Jesus.
