China to Send Delegation to North Korea in Post Pandemic First

This week, North Korea’s state media announced that Russia’s defense minister and a high-level Chinese delegation will be welcomed to Pyongyang for the Korean War armistice anniversary celebrations. This marks a significant change in North Korea’s strict Covid-19 border restrictions. Pyongyang plans to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Korean War armistice on July 27, 1953. This day, known as Victory Day in North Korea, brought an end to active hostilities in the conflict. State media promises that the celebrations will be held in a “grand manner that will be remembered in history.”
